Removable Dentures

About Removable Dentures

A partial denture replaces either one lost tooth or a group of teeth on the upper or lower jaw. They attach to the remaining teeth with either metal clasps or – the more expensive option – precision attachments. The latter are more aesthetically pleasing as they’re nearly invisible.

At Aum Dental Clinic we will be happy to give you all the advice you need in order to choose which option is better for you. The dentist may also recommend crowns on your natural teeth as they improve the fit of your partial dentures.

Complete dentures are a total replacement for either the upper or lower teeth, or both. Any remaining teeth are removed and gum tissue is allowed to undergo preliminary healing before the dentures are placed in the mouth.

Complete Denture Care

Taking proper care of your dentures is essential to maintain your oral health, keep your dentures in good condition, and ensure a comfortable fit. Whether you’re new to dentures or have been wearing them for years, following the right care routine can help extend their life and improve your quality of life.

Why Denture Care Matters

  • Prevents oral infections like stomatitis and cheilitis
  • Maintains a proper fit, avoiding irritation and sores
  • Keeps your mouth fresh and free from bad odors
  • Prolongs the life of your dentures, saving you money in the long run

Caring for Your Mouth

  • Brush your gums, tongue, and palate every morning with a soft-bristled brush before inserting your dentures.
  • If you use partial dentures, don’t forget to brush your natural teeth and floss regularly.
  • Stay hydrated to prevent dry mouth, which can irritate tissues and affect denture comfort.
